Job summary

Kent State University invites internal applications for a full-time, tenure-track 9-month faculty position in the College of Nursing at Kent Campus. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and/or graduate programs and advance health through education, scholarship, and community engagement.

Responsibilities include teaching, curriculum development, scholarly research leading to publications and external funding, student advising, service, and community partnerships, with

Qualifications

• Earned Doctorate (PhD, DNP, or equivalent) in Nursing or a related field.
• Current unencumbered RN license (or eligibility for licensure) in the State of Ohio.
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical practice as an RN.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and scholarly activity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate nursing courses in areas of expertise (e.g., Medical-Surgical, Community Health, Psychiatric-Mental Health, Leadership, or Advanced Practice).
• Develop, implement, and evaluate innovative curricula and instructional strategies.
• Establish and maintain an active program of scholarly research leading to publications and external funding.
• Advise and mentor students in academic and professional development.
• Participate in service activities at the program, college, university, and professional levels.
• Engage in community outreach and foster partnerships with healthcare organizations.
• Contribute to accreditation and program evaluation processes.
