California State University, Fullerton invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Mechanical Engineering for Fall 2027. We seek candidates across mechanical engineering, especially in thermal-fluid sciences and manufacturing, who will teach, research, and contribute to student success.

Successful applicants will develop courses, mentor students, pursue external funding, and participate in service activities, helping CSUF advance teaching, research, and inclusive

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field; ABDs may apply but must earn a doctorate before appointment.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including laboratory courses.
• Ability and willingness to promote undergraduate and graduate student success through advising and co-curricular activities.
• Focused research agenda with external funding potential.
• Demonstrated record of publishing peer-reviewed papers in refereed venues within the last three years.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with a diverse student and colleague population.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses within the mechanical engineering curricula.
• Develop new courses in emerging areas of mechanical engineering.
• Mentor students on projects and research.
• Participate in service at department and university levels.
• Contribute to department culture and collaboration.
