Job summary

Volunteer State Community College seeks an Instructor of Mathematics for a 9/10 month tenure-track position. You will deliver quality instruction across online, hybrid, and on-ground formats while contributing to program evaluation, curriculum development, and accreditation efforts.

The role includes teaching 15 credit hours per term (28–32 across Fall/Spring), participating in service activities, and maintaining up-to-date subject-matter expertise.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution or a Master’s degree plus 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
• Collegiate-level teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to teach multiple formats: asynchronous online, traditional on-ground, hybrid.
• Ability to use a learning management system for course delivery and records.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Teach 15 semester credit hours per term and 28–32 semester credit hours across Fall and Spring.
• Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment, and distance-based courses as required.
• Provide effective instruction and foster a supportive learning environment.
• Engage in program and curriculum development, and accreditation activities.
• Complete administrative duties and submit attendance, progress reports, grades, and surveys on time.
• Support student recruitment and retention, and participate in professional development.
