Job summary

Volunteer State Community College seeks an Instructor of Mathematics for a 9/10 month tenure-track position. The role involves delivering quality instruction in multiple formats and participating in assessment of course and program outcomes.

You will engage in service activities, support student recruitment and retention, and maintain up-to-date subject-matter expertise through ongoing professional development. Evening/weekend/distance courses may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution or a Master’s degree plus 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
• Knowledge of instructional formats including asynchronous online, traditional on-ground, and hybrid delivery.
• Ability to use a learning management system for course delivery and records management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in multiple formats and assess student learning and outcomes.
• Engage in evaluation of course and program outcomes and participate in curriculum development.
• Perform service activities to support the college’s mission and student-focused initiatives.
• Maintain up-to-date content expertise and pursue ongoing professional development in pedagogy.
• Handle administrative duties, trainings, attendance reporting, grades, and required documentation.
• Support student recruitment and retention efforts through advising and mentorship.
