Job summary

The School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Oklahoma Norman Campus invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate tenure-track faculty position in Information Retrieval and Human Computer Interaction. The appointment begins fall 2027 and is located in Norman, Oklahoma, with relocation required.

Responsibilities include teaching at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels in online/asynchronous formats, and balancing 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20%

Qualifications

• Required: Ph.D. or ABD in Information Science or closely related field, defense before starting Fall 2027.
• Research specialization in information retrieval or human-computer interaction with library/IS relevance.
• Preferred: undergrad/grad teaching experience and online/asynchronous teaching experience.
• Demonstrated research through presentations/publications relevant to rank.
• Experience with grant proposals for Associate rank and service involvement.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses at undergraduate, master's, and/or doctoral levels; typical load 2 courses per fall and spring semester.
• Engage in research and publish at Carnegie R1 level.
• Provide service at department, college, university, and national/international levels.
