This is primarily a teaching position; the candidate will teach Integrated pest management, weed biology, tree and fruit crop production, and other horticulture topics, while developing courses and an experiential learning research program.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agronomy, Pomology or closely related field.
• Commitment to teaching excellence evidenced by strong teaching evaluations.
• Experience serving a highly diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Teach in areas such as integrated pest management, weed biology, and crop production.
• Develop courses and establish an active student-focused experiential learning research program.
• Mentor and advise a highly diverse student population.
• Support teaching, scholarly productivity, and service to the university.
• Pursue summer activities and interdisciplinary projects in the 2-acre sustainable garden.
