Qualifications

• Ph.D. in History by the time of appointment from an accredited doctoral program.
• Experience working effectively in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
• Demonstrated success in teaching United States/American history to a diverse undergraduate population.
• Demonstrated potential or evidence of successful research, scholarly publication, and/or creative activities.
• Evidence of a clear, feasible plan for a sustained research agenda.

Responsibilities

• Teach lower- and upper-division courses in modern United States history
• Willingness to teach other history and social science courses as needed
• Mentoring students in the History major
• History curriculum development and assessment
• Research and other scholarly or creative activities
