Job summary

Loyola University Maryland invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of History of Medicine and Health to begin July 2027. Ph.D. in hand by July 2027 and teaching experience required.

The successful candidate will teach three undergraduate courses per semester, including HS 100: Encountering the Past, and offer courses in health/medicine history. May teach in Honors and contribute to core curriculum.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in hand by July 2027 and teaching experience required.
• Commitment to undergraduate teaching and Jesuit mission.
• Ability to teach HS 100: Encountering the Past and history of health and medicine courses.

Responsibilities

• Teach three undergraduate courses each semester, including HS 100: Encountering the Past.
• Offer courses in the history of health and medicine and related geographic/temporal specialties.
• Possibly teach in the university’s Honors program and contribute to service and the core curriculum.
