Job summary

The Department of Art & Design invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in graphic design. The candidate should bridge analog and digital making, with preferred expertise in typography, web development, UI/UX, and community-based design.

Initial appointment is a two-year probationary track beginning 2027/2028. Responsibilities include teaching 3 courses per semester, advising students, and contributing to scholarly activity and service within the department and

Qualifications

• Terminal degree (e.g. MFA) in Graphic Design or related field; evidence of scholarly activity or professional practice.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
• Demonstrated ability to teach required and elective studio courses at all undergraduate levels to majors and non-majors.

Responsibilities

• Teach 3 courses (or 12 contact hours) per semester across Foundations to Capstone.
• Provide academic advising and internships as assigned.
• Engage in research, creative, or scholarly activities.
• Participate in departmental, university, and professional service.
