Job summary

College of Southern Nevada invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Instructor of Graphic Communications beginning Spring 2027. The program trains students in graphic design, Adobe Creative Suite, and motion/UI/UX, with emphasis on client- and industry-based practices.

The instructor will teach five undergraduate courses per semester. Required: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field by appointment time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, New Media, or related field (must be obtained by time of appointment).
• College-level teaching experience and/or a record of client-based, industry experience.
• Teaching experience in a college setting.
• Expertise in three or more of the listed graphic communications areas: typography, digital imaging, visual/design fundamentals, conceptual design, layout design, illustration, print production and prepress, image manipulation, art direction, design history/theory, storyboarding, motion graphics, broadcast graphics, interaction/interactive communications design, instructional design, or related areas.
• Experience with current industry standard tools including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and comparable applications such as Canva, Blender, or Cinema 4D.
• Knowledge of Unreal Engine or similar software.

• The Graphic Communications Program prepares students for a career in the design field by emphasizing client- and industry-based practices.
• The successful candidate will teach five undergraduate courses per semester in the areas of Graphic Design, Adobe Creative Suite, Motion graphics and UI/UX design.
