Job summary

The Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture at City College of New York invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in architectural history and urban studies, starting Fall 2027. The appointed faculty member will teach courses in the Urban Studies and the Built Environment program and in the architecture programs, and advise majors on a two-semester capstone project.

We seek an emerging scholar with a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in architectural history or urban history required.
• Ability to teach successfully and cooperate with others.
• Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses and seminars.

Responsibilities

• Teach required courses in the Urban Studies and the Built Environment program.
• Advise majors in a two-semester capstone project.
• Teach a global history of 20th- and 21st-century architecture in SSA programs.
• Participate in committee and department assignments.
