Job summary

City College of New York seeks a mid- to senior-career scholar for a tenure-track or tenured position in Architecture and Urban AI. The appointee will lead the Spergel cluster, teach AI-driven design, and advance research across architecture, urban studies, and related programs.

The role emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, equity, sustainability, and mentorship, with a strong startup package and responsibilities across CCNY and the GC. Fall 2027 start date is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required in area(s) of experience or equivalent; ability to teach and collaborate with colleagues.
• PhD in architecture, design computation, planning or related field preferred; terminal design degree.
• Record of teaching and ability to teach AI and computational methods to design students.

Responsibilities

• Teach AI and computational methods to design students at undergrad and grad levels.
• Direct the Urban AI cluster and Spergel initiative; shape research and pedagogy.
• Contribute to MS in Computational Sciences; engage across CCNY, Queens College and GC.
