Summary of Responsibilities:

Asuccessfulcandidate will have qualifications andexperienceto teach a variety of undergraduate computerscience courses which could include Survey of Computer Science,Intro and Object-Oriented Programming, Software Engineering,Algorithms and Data Structures, Networking, AI, Data Analytics,Cloud Computing, Mobile Applications, among others.

Essential Responsibilities:

(These essentialresponsibilities are those the individual must be able to performunaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation.)

Teach twelve contact hours per semester. Overloads may be necessaryat times.Maintain currency in research and/or industry to bettermentor students in advanced courses or design projects.Adequatelyprepare all course materials and lessons (Note: preparation timewill vary based on instructor experience in teaching thatcourse).Provide each student with clear course expectations,evaluations, and timelines through carefully written topicaloutlines and approved syllabus per faculty establishedguidelines.Provide interesting and relevant assignments forstudents that demonstrate learning outcomes in a real-lifesetting.Suitably challenge, engage, support, and communicate withstudents to encourage their participation and learning whilemaintaining mutual value and respect.Provide timely grades tostudents through college software and upload mid-term and finalgrades by college deadlines.Respond to student questions on atimely basis.Ensure course and program learning outcomes aredelivered as defined by the syllabus.Genuinely love working withcollege students.

Specific Responsibilities:

Candidate must possess the ability torespond quickly to a changing industry landscape and be able toadapt courses to accommodate the most recent developments.Candidatemust be a team player who is committed to the cooperative successof the program.Candidate must engage in academic advising of majorswithin the computer science and cybersecurity department.Candidatemust participate in student recruitment efforts.

Minimum:
Education/Certification:

Master’sDegree in Computer Science or a closely related field from anaccredited U.S. college/university or internationalequivalent.

Experience:

Expertise and hands-on skills inat least one of these areas: software development, networking, datascience, artificial intelligence.

Teaching:

Competenceto teach in two or more of the following areas: computerorganization, operating systems, programming, algorithms, databasesystems, networking, software engineering, artificialintelligence.

Christian Commitment:

An eligible candidatemust be a thoughtful and articulate Christian and an active memberof a Protestant evangelical Christian church. Preference will begiven to the candidate who supports and has an articulateunderstanding of the Reformed faith. An eligible candidate mustunderstand and support the College’s “Foundational Concepts ofChristian Education” by expressing an evangelical Christianprofession of faith and demonstrate the ability to integrate aChristian perspective in theirwork.

PhDin Computer Science or a closely related field from an accreditedU.S. college/university or international equivalent.

Experience:Previous full-time successful highereducation teaching experience preferred. Relevant industryexperience preferred. Experience guiding individual studentresearch opportunities. Academic or industry leadershipexperience.
