Job summary

Lycoming College's Biology Department invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, starting August 2027. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new academic major and to guide the acquisition of laboratory teaching and research equipment.

The successful candidate will teach courses including Introduction to Exercise Science and Exercise Physiology (300-level), mentor a diverse student population through coursework,

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field by start date.
• Strong preference for candidates with undergraduate teaching experience.
• Commitment to inclusive excellence and student mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses such as Introduction to Exercise Science and Exercise Physiology (300-level).
• Mentor diverse students through coursework, undergraduate research, and capstones.
• Help build and equip facilities for the new Exercise Science major.
• Contribute to general education offerings and First-Year Seminars.
