Job summary

Trinity University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Anthropology specializing in Environmental Anthropology. The successful candidate will teach Humans and the Environment and introductory courses, with opportunities to develop upper-division offerings in their area of specialization.

The position begins August 2027. The teaching load is 3-2 with class sizes of approximately 12–24 students, and the candidate should demonstrate potential for an active research

Qualifications

• PhD in Anthropology by July 2027.
• Graduate coursework in cultural anthropology, with a research specialization in environmental anthropology.
• Some teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
• Sole-taught courses are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaching: undergraduate level classes, both required foundational courses and courses in the candidate's area of specialization; First Year Experience participation encouraged; teaching load 3-2 with class sizes ~12-24.
• Research: active scholarly activity, conference attendance or other professional events, and publication of research.
• Service: advising majors, service to the department, university, profession, and community.
