Job summary

The Environmental Arts and Humanities (EAH) program at the University of the South invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Environmental Humanities to begin in Fall 2027. We welcome teacher-scholars from across humanities disciplines whose research engages with transdisciplinary approaches to the Environmental Humanities.

Qualifications

• Must have a terminal degree by August 2027.
• Demonstrated interdisciplinary engagement with Environmental Humanities.
• Relevant teaching experience required.
• Evidence of curricular innovation or leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach core introductory and upper-level Environmental Arts and Humanities courses.
• Teach courses in the candidate's area that strengthen the EAH major and at least one other major/minor on campus.
• Contribute to curriculum development and interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Mentor undergraduate students within the liberal arts tradition.
