Job summary

California State University, San Bernardino invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Geological Sciences beginning August 2027. We seek an Engineering Geologist or Applied Geoscientist with industry or government experience who can mentor students toward professional licensure and contribute to our geotechnical and near-surface research programs.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. by time of appointment.
• Sufficient experience to teach Engineering Geology.
• Experience with or potential to mentor students in a viable research program.

Responsibilities

• Teach Engineering Geology and a course in their area of expertise such as site investigation or advanced field geology; general education courses such as environmental geology.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research and help expand the department's research portfolio.
• Contribute to CSUSB’s teaching and research strengths and leverage departmental instrumentation.
