Qualifications

• PhD in Geology or related field, with an emphasis on Geophysics, by date of appointment.
• Evidence of established scholarly output and a robust research program within the field of Geophysics.
• Demonstrated potential for and dedication to superior instruction and mentorship at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Awareness of the educational goals of a socially and economically diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate geophysics courses and service courses as needed.
• Develop a geophysics research program and pursue internal and external funding.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds.
• Serve as a mentor and advisor in MS Geology and Computational Geoscience programs.
• Participate in governance and department, college, university committees.
• Organize courses in Canvas LMS.
• Adopt inclusive teaching materials and advisement to support diverse student populations.
