College of Arts and Sciences University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for a tenure-line Assistant Professor of Elementary Mathematics Education. The hire will help prepare educators, collaborate with colleagues, and attract funding to programs in mathematics education.

The position joins a dynamic TLTE community, with collaboration with the Department of Mathematics and the Center for Science, Mathematics and Computer Education.

Qualifications

• Requires Doctorate in mathematics education or related field (ABD considered but must complete before start).
• Minimum of two years elementary or secondary teaching experience.
• Preparation to teach college-level mathematics education courses.
• Clear research agenda in elementary mathematics education and/or teacher education.
• Evidence of professional and institutional service.
• Commitment to access and equity in teaching and scholarship.

Responsibilities

• Teach Elementary Mathematics methods coursework in undergraduate STEM block.
• Teach graduate courses in K-12 Mathematics Education.
• Advise and mentor master’s and doctoral students.
• Conduct a scholarly program of research appropriate to rank.
• Engage in collaboration across content areas and programs.
• Provide outreach to schools and communities.
