The University of Nebraska–Lincoln invites applications for a tenure-line Assistant Professor of Elementary Mathematics Education who can help prepare effective educators and collaborate with department colleagues, mathematics and STEM content specialists, and classroom teachers. The department seeks a dynamic colleague to expand funded research and professional learning opportunities.

Qualifications

Doctorate in mathematics education or related field; ABD considered but must complete before start date.
Two years of elementary or secondary teaching experience.
Preparation to teach college-level mathematics education courses.
Clear research agenda anchored in elementary mathematics education and/or teacher education.
Evidence of professional and institutional service.
Demonstrated commitment to access and equity in teaching and scholarship.

Responsibilities

Teach Elementary Mathematics methods coursework as part of a collaborative undergraduate STEM Block of courses.
Teach graduate courses in K-12 Mathematics Education and other areas of expertise.
Advise and mentor master’s and doctoral students.
Conduct a scholarly program of research appropriate to rank.
Engage in collaboration across content areas, programs, departments, and colleges.
Provide outreach to schools, other educational institutions, and communities.
