Marist University invites applications for an tenure-track Assistant Professor of Education in the Education Department. The position begins Fall 2027 and focuses on preparing elementary and secondary teachers with a holistic, inquiry-based approach.

The role involves teaching, advising, maintaining an active research agenda, and collaborating across departments to enhance recruitment and retention of future teachers.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Education or related field by Fall 2027.
• Student-centered approach to guiding the next generation of teachers.
• Scholarship commensurate with tenure expectations of a university with a teacher-scholar model.
• 3–5 years of teaching experience in pre-K to grade 12 schools.
• Ability to model culturally responsive pedagogy across courses and foster inclusive classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in teacher education per the department's needs.
• Advise students on academic progress and NYS certification requirements.
• Maintain an active research agenda resulting in presentations and publications.
• Collaborate with faculty and administration to recruit and retain students.
• Participate in department, school, and faculty meetings as part of a continuous improvement team.
