LeTourneau University in Texas invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Education in the Department of Teacher Education, with emphasis on literacy, elementary education and the Science of Teaching Reading.

This tenure-track position is rank negotiable based on experience. The faculty member will teach a range of education courses, advise students, and participate on committees, while pursuing research and scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Education from an accredited university.
• Ability to teach reading/l literacy courses with expertise in the Science of Teaching Reading.
• Texas EC-6 or 4-8 certification; out-of-state candidates must be eligible for Texas certification.
• Significant PK-8 teaching experience.
• Ability to relate to students and faculty; collaborative mindset.
• Commitment to faith integration and alignment with the University Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Teach a full load of reading, literacy and elementary education courses.
• Prepare course materials and assessments.
• Advise students and participate on department/school/university committees.
• Engage in service and scholarship in the field.
