Eastern Washington University in Spokane, WA invites applications for an Open Rank Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Dental Hygiene. The position is tenure-track, spanning didactic, online, and clinical teaching, and begins August 16, 2027 for the Fall 2027–2028 academic year with a nine-month appointment.

The department offers the state’s only Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and is developing a Master of Dental Therapy.

Qualifications

• Master’s of Science in Dental Hygiene or related field.
• Washington State Dental Hygiene licensure or ability to obtain by 8/16/2027.
• Minimum of two years clinical experience within the past five years.
• Demonstrate expertise in designing, developing, and updating course materials for high standards of accuracy and accessibility.
• Experience with technology and learning management systems (LMS).
• Demonstrate potential for scholarship as required for tenure-track.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google Drive.
• Experience in course design and curriculum development.
• Commitment to cultural competency, universal accessibility, and diversity.
• Excellent communication and networking skills.

Responsabilités

• Teach didactic, online and clinical courses in Dental Hygiene.
• Mentor clinical faculty and maintain licensure currency.
• Plan, organize, and deliver course content with clear syllabi.
• Advise students and majors on department and university requirements.
• Engage in scholarship and professional growth for tenure-track.
• Collaborate with department and university to meet program goals.
