Job summary

University of the Incarnate Word invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Cybersecurity (Offensive Security and Applied AI) in Fall 2027. This role focuses on teaching four courses each semester and developing new undergraduate and graduate courses for Applied AI Engineering programs.

The candidate will lead hands-on red-team and AI labs, coach cybersecurity teams, advise capstones, and contribute to scholarly research while collaborating with industry partners

Qualifications

• Doctorate in relevant discipline with 18 graduate hours in Computer Information Systems or Cybersecurity; ABD considered.
• At least one year of college teaching experience in cybersecurity, computing, or artificial intelligence.
• Experience developing and teaching courses in AI security, red teaming, and security of LLM/AI systems.
• Strong research record or potential for a sustainable scholarly program in cybersecurity and AI.
• Ability to collaborate with industry partners and pursue NSA CAE-CD designation.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in Cyber Security Systems and CIS with emphasis on offensive security and applied AI.
• Develop and teach new courses for planned Applied AI Engineering programs.
• Build and maintain hands-on red-team and AI lab exercises; coach cyber competition teams.
• Mentor project-based and capstone courses with industry partners preparing students for AI security roles.
• Prepare course outlines based on approved syllabi and ensure curriculum outcomes.
