Qualifications

• Earned a bachelor's degree or higher in culinary, food service, or related field.
• 3–5 years of teaching or training experience.
• Practical employment experience in the culinary/food service/restaurant industry with professional kitchen decorum and strong operational management skills.
• Thorough knowledge of the culinary/food service industry and ability to teach classical techniques and courses.
• Effective communication skills and commitment to inclusive campus environment.
• ServSafe certified, or willing to complete certification prior to Spring 2027.

Responsibilities

• Instructs in lectu re and laboratory courses in the Hospitality Department.
• Evaluates student performance according to department guidelines.
• Teaches multiple courses/sections each term and prepares lesson plans and materials.
• Maintains office hours and advises students on academics and careers.
• Assists department with curriculum development, faculty recruitment, and grant projects.
• Performs duties independently and as part of a team with strong time management.
