Job summary

Requires a Master’s degree in Counseling or related field, Ohio licensure, and teaching experience in higher education.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate-level course hours in Counseling or Social Work
• One year of higher education experience in counseling
• Teaching experience
• Licensed from the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board
• Strong background in working with a multi-cultural diverse student population and sensitivity to respond to their needs

Responsibilities

• Engages in a wide range of academic, personal, and career counseling during individual student appointments
• Engages in outreach efforts with instructional faculty and staff to educate students and employees
• Assists with New Student Orientation by offering academic counseling individually or in groups
• Keeps updated on developments in the field by reading current literature and participating in professional development
• Maintains licensure in professional field
• Serves on academic/administrative committees related to policies and curriculum
• Collaborates with Student Affairs to document and support students and leverage technology
• Participates in campus and community events
• Assists students with Degree Completion and Early Momentum Metrics
• Maintains counseling records using SARS, Tri-C Connect, GradPlan, DegreeWorks, Banner, One Record
