Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work or closely related field with at least 18 graduate-level hours in Counseling or Social Work.
• One year of higher education experience in counseling.
• Teaching experience.
• Licensed from the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
• Strong background working with a culturally diverse student population.
• Skilled at building relationships within and across an organization and community.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of curriculum and training design for students.
• Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• Good logic and problem-solving abilities.
• Sensitivity to diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

• Engages in a wide range of academic, personal, and career counseling during individual student appointments.
• Engages in outreach with instructional faculty and staff to educate students and employees.
• Assists with New Student Orientation by offering counseling individually or in groups.
• Maintains licensure in professional field.
• May teach General Studies courses and student success workshops.
• Participates in campus and community events.
