Middle Georgia State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of communication to join our media and communication program. The successful candidate will teach human communication, public speaking and introductory courses focused on mass media and news writing.

Upper-level courses will include communication theory, persuasion, media ethics and intercultural communication, with opportunities to teach graduate courses to support the master’s in public relations.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in communication or related field.
• Online and face-to-face teaching experience.
• Demonstrated success in teaching college courses; strong communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Teaching courses to support the media and communication bachelor’s degree.
• Teaching courses to support the public relations master’s degree.
• Presenting and publishing communication research.
• Serving the university, school, department, and MGA community.
• Traveling between Macon, Cochran, Warner Robins and Dublin campuses.
