Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biomedical Informatics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, CS or related field.
• In lieu of a Ph.D., an MD with clinical informatics or data science training or a Masters with focus on clinical informatics or data science.
• Strong potential to establish an independent research program and contribute to interdisciplinary teams.
• Experience leading clinical data science initiatives and bridging methodology with real-world impact is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Establish and externally funded research program leveraging real-world clinical data and AI methods.
• Collaborate across Stony Brook Medicine, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and other units to develop high‑impact research.
• Contribute to graduate teaching and mentor students and trainees.
• Provide services to the Department, School, University, and professional community.
