Job summary

California State University, Northridge (CSUN) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering & Construction Management. The successful candidate will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, advise students and supervise graduate research, and contribute to curriculum development and accreditation.

Fit requires a Ph.D. (or ABD with degree by Aug 19, 2026), and evidence of teaching ability in CM/CE; publication record of at least two peer-reviewed papers

Qualifications

• Ph.D. and B.S. in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline; ABD candidates considered but must finish by Aug 19, 2026.
• Teaching experience or strong potential to teach Construction Management or Civil Engineering courses, in-person or online.
• Published at least two papers in peer-reviewed conferences or journals within the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Teach Civil Engineering courses at undergraduate and graduate levels and advise undergraduates; supervise graduate students.
• Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, and departmental activities; participate in student organizations if required.
• Provide weekly office hours, attend faculty meetings, support assessment of student learning, and engage in service to department, college, and university; may teach evenings, weekends, or online.
