Job summary

Towson University is inviting applications for a tenure-track, nine-month Assistant Professor position in the Department of Kinesiology, College of Health Professions. Preferred start date is August 2027.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Exercise Science or a closely related field (ABD considered; appointment at Instructor rank with degree completion by Feb 1, 2028). Research in biomechanics, motor learning, motor development or related areas is valued.

Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent in Exercise Science or closely related field; ABD considered, but appointment will be at the Instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by Feb 1, 2028.
  • Evidence of a scholarship agenda in Exercise Science that complements faculty expertise, courses, and resources.
  • Ability to teach biomechanics, motor learning, motor development, and/or research methods.

Responsibilities

  • Teach biomechanics, motor learning, motor development, and research methods courses.
  • Develop a scholarly agenda with potential for external funding.
  • Contribute to department and university service.
