The Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department at The University of Akron invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track faculty position at Assistant or Associate Professor levels with an anticipated start date of August 2027. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and research, develop an independent, extramurally funded program, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related discipline with a biomedical engineering emphasis.
• Post-doctoral training is preferable for Assistant Professor level.
• Candidates should have an active, nationally or internationally recognized research program (Associate Professor).
• Evidence of teaching and mentorship strengths; ability to develop an extramurally funded research program.
