Job summary

Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri, seeks a full-time Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Biology to begin Fall 2027. The successful candidate will teach anatomy and physiology, general biology, and upper-division courses, and will coordinate labs and contribute to program development within the School of STEM.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related discipline by appointment date preferred; ABD status considered.
• Postdoctoral experience is preferred.
• Teaching experience in undergraduate education is preferred with evidence-based practices.
• Ability to contribute to a diverse, inclusive climate for students.

Responsibilities

• Teach 12 credit hours per semester (24 per year) in anatomy and physiology, biology, and advanced courses.
• Coordinate and teach anatomy and physiology labs.
• Develop and teach a course-based undergraduate research experience in an advanced biology course.
• Mentor students in research as part of honors capstone.
• Engage in service and scholarship aligned with a tenure-track role.
