Job summary

York College/CUNY invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Information Systems and Business anticipated to begin Fall 2027.

The successful candidate will teach in Entrepreneurship, International Business, Business Analytics, Marketing, and Economics, with evening and weekend teaching as needed. Responsibilities include advising, service on committees, curriculum development, and engagement with the business community.

Qualifications

• PhD or other relevant doctoral degree by Fall 2027.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
• Expertise in Entrepreneurship, International Business, Business Analytics, Marketing, or Economics.
• Commitment to student success through effective teaching, advising, mentoring, and support of diverse student populations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
• Commitment to service activities within an academic institution, professional organizations, or community settings.

Responsibilities

• Teach basic and advanced courses in Entrepreneurship, International Business, Business Analytics, Marketing, and Economics.
• Provide student advisement and individual mentoring.
• Participate in curriculum development as part of the normal workload.
• Work collaboratively to enhance the Business and Economics department programs with an emphasis on maintaining academic relevance and alignment with marketplace needs.
• Complete administrative tasks as part of the normal workload.
• Fulfill bargaining unit workload requirements, including equivalent administrative responsibilities.
• Serve the College through participation in committees, professional organizations, and community engagement activities.
• Encourage and support student involvement in student organizations, internships, and career development opportunities.
• Maintain and develop relationships with the business community and relevant professional organizations.
