Job summary

SUNY Brockport's Department of Computing Sciences invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computing Sciences. The successful candidate will teach CS courses, participate in the Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity programs, and engage in scholarly research leading to refereed publications.

The appointment begins August 2027; responsibilities include teaching, advising, mentoring, and service to the department and university.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline by time of appointment from an accredited college or university
• ABD hires must earn their doctoral degree within six months of appointment
• Ability to teach CS courses at all levels and courses supporting CIS/Cybersecurity programs
• Develop and maintain an active research program

Responsibilities

• Teach required and elective courses in Computer Science and related programs up to 18 credits per academic year
• Engage in scholarly activity leading to refereed publications and presentations
• Provide academic advising and participate in service to the department and college
