Job summary

SUNY Brockport invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in the Department of Computing Sciences. The successful candidate will teach required and elective Computer Science courses, support CIS and Cybersecurity programs, and engage in scholarly research leading to refereed publications. Service to department and college is expected.

The position begins in August 2027 and includes teaching load and scholarship responsibilities consistent with tenure-track requirements.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline by time of appointment; ABD hires must earn their doctoral degree within six months of appointment.
• Ability to teach Computer Science courses at all levels and courses supporting CIS/Cybersecurity programs.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain an active research program.
• Commitment to mentoring students from diverse educational backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Teach required and elective CS courses; support CIS and/or Cybersecurity programs.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
• Engage in discipline-specific scholarly activity leading to peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
• Participate in department, college, and professional service.
