Job summary

Augusta University seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Anthropology to teach introductory Biological Anthropology and upper-division courses in Forensic Anthropology, with labs as needed. A strong teaching commitment and a developing research program involving undergraduates are emphasized.

The candidate should hold a doctorate in Anthropology (or near completion) with a focus in Biological Anthropology and will contribute to a diverse teaching portfolio at Summerville Campus.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Anthropology with a concentration in Biological Anthropology.
• Terminal degree or near completion; demonstrated teaching ability and scholarly activity.
• Evidence of ability as a teacher and active scholar; SACSCOC requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Teach 9 credit hours per semester (3:3), including upper division class and lab sections.
• Hold office hours and provide timely grading and student feedback.
• Adhere to all university policies and maintain high-quality research.
• Participate in shared governance within department, college and university.
