Job summary

Cape Fear Country Club in Wilmington, NC is hiring a part-time Tennis Shop Assistant to help run the Pro Shop and assist on the courts. You will promote and sell tennis merchandise and help members with court bookings and lessons.

The role requires reliable, outgoing team players who can work 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. shifts on Tue/Thu/Sat/Sun as listed; weekend flexibility is expected. A tennis background is preferred but not required, and training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Promote and sell tennis merchandise in the tennis shop.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of tennis shop.

• Supply towels, cups, and ice to members and guests.
• Record all charge tickets.
• Change displays as instructed.
• Restock merchandise when supply is low.
• Empty trash and clean tennis shop and courts.
• Keep storage area tidy.
• Groom and water courts daily.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Assist with other projects and tasks as directed.

Summary (Essential Functions)

The Tennis Shop Assistant will assist in maintaining our Tennis Pro Shop and assist on the tennis courts as needed. Our facility has ten soft tennis courts, one hard tennis court and five Pickle Ball courts.

Required availability

Tuesdays 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursdays 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., OR 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sundays 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., OR 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

On-court opportunities may include working with players ages 3 - 18, after school, including evening & weekend shifts.

Sign-on Bonus

After 6 months of service, employees receive sign-on bonuses as follows:

• 35+ hrs/wk - $1000
• 21 - 35 hrs/wk - $500
• 1 - 20 hrs/wk - $250

Qualifications

Candidates must have a strong desire to provide excellent customer service. Tennis background is preferred but certification is not required. Ideal candidates will also be reliable, outgoing, energetic, and comfortable working in a large group environment with a team mentality. All candidates will work to ensure the fulfillment of the Club's mission to provide a warm and friendly environment for our members and guests, through commitment and dedication with a personal touch.
