Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with legal coursework or Paralegal Certificate.
• Social services experience with elderly, disabled, or low-income households.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Capacity to analyze and apply legal principles to practical problems.
• Ability to manage responsibilities with little oversight.

Responsibilities

• Handle intake sessions for new clients, interview clients in person or by phone, gather information and enter data.
• Provide negotiation, legal information, referrals and basic advice under attorney supervision.
• Assist supervising attorney with litigation including drafting papers and interviewing witnesses.
• Organize client files, write closing letters and memos.
