Gfoat in University Park, TX seeks a temporary Youth Services assistant to deliver quality customer service, manage materials, and provide youth programming. The role involves frequent patron interaction and supporting story times and outreach within the library.
Duration: November 11, 2026 – February 2, 2027. Work hours include Tue/Wed 9 a.m.–1 p.m. and up to additional weekly scheduling, as needed by the manager.
The purpose of this temporary position is to provide a variety of public service functions, including delivering quality customer service to all library patrons, managing library materials, and providing youth programming. This role requires frequent customer interaction and the ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently.
Duration: November 11, 2026 – February 2, 2027
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, twist, talk, hear, and use hands to reach, finger, grasp, handle, feel, and/or operate objects, tools, or controls. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee is occasionally to frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, crouch, squat, kneel, and crawl. The employee must occasionally to frequently lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds and frequently to constantly lift and/or carry up to 10 pounds. The employee must frequently to constantly push and/or pull loaded book carts and/or boxes of materials.
Required Hours: Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Remaining Hours: Eight hours per week to be scheduled between Tuesday and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Exact shift days and times will be finalized with the hiring manager upon hire and will become the employee's set weekly schedule.
