Job summary

The State of South Carolina DMV seeks a Temporary Titling & Licensing Specialist to support Upstate offices. You will process driver licenses, registrations, title documents, and related transactions, working with banks, dealerships, and customers in a fast-paced, policy-driven environment.

This temporary role focuses on accuracy, compliance with SC DMV policies, and excellent customer service; training and benefits are provided; requires ability to pass background checks and use Phoenix System.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent plus clerical experience.
• Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include fingerprints prior to being certified to administer CDL knowledge skill tests.
• Before being certified to administer CDL knowledge skill tests must complete a formal CDL test examiner trainer course and examination that includes Introduction to CDL Licensing System, Overview of the CDL Tests and Knowledge Tests.

Responsibilities

• Examines, accepts, prepares, enters and prints documents for licenses, permits and identifications for agencies; includes titles and registrations.
• Creates and edits customer name and address fields.
• Manages business customer needs such as licensing, insurance issues and verifying customer numbers.
• Processes motor vehicle registration requests and investigates suspension inquiries.
• Answers inquiries via telephone, email or written correspondence and directs customers to appropriate offices.
