Job summary

South Carolina DMV in the Midlands region of South Carolina is seeking a Temporary Titling & Licensing Specialist to support licensing, titling and vehicle registration processes.

The role involves handling driver and vehicle documentation, processing fees, and interacting with banks, dealerships and other stakeholders. This temporary position requires attention to policy, accuracy and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent plus clerical experience.
• Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include fingerprints prior to being certified to administer CDL knowledge skill tests.
• Before being certified to administer CDL knowledge skill tests must complete a formal CDL test examiner trainer course and examination that includes Introduction to CDL Licensing System, Overview of the CDL Tests and Knowledge Tests.

Responsibilities

• Examines, accepts, prepares, enters and prints all documents required in issuing drivers' licenses, permits and identifications for all classes.
• Create and edit customer name and address fields.
• Manages business customer needs such as licensing and insurance issues.
• Processes motor vehicle registration requests and issues dealership licenses.
• Answers customer inquiries via telephone, email or written correspondence.
• Operates equipment necessary to assist customers and administers knowledge tests.
