Temporary Technician (Lance)

Position Summary: The incumbent(s) will assist University of Georgia MS students with field and laboratory research at the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory (SREL). Responsibilities include ecotoxicological research on amphibians and snakes, trapping and handling in the field, setting up experiments, data collection and entry, and assistance with metal analysis of tissues. The technician may also support ongoing projects such as amphibian population monitoring, camera trap footage analysis, and acoustic recording analysis.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Field work for trapping/collecting amphibians and reptiles – 25%
• Assist with set up, running, and data collection for ecotoxicology experiments – 50%
• Data entry/management – 15%
• Additional office work such as camera trap footage analysis – 10%

Physical Demands

Lift at least 50 pounds and work outdoors up to 8 hours per day. Requires attention to detail, data entry familiarity, willingness to handle amphibians and snakes, and ability to work long hours in wet or hot conditions.
