This is a technician position at the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory (SREL). The incumbent(s) is/are responsible for assisting current University of Georgia MS students with field and laboratory research. The technicians will be assisting with ecotoxicological research on amphibians and snakes, which will necessitate trapping and handling in the field, setting up experiments, data collection/entry, and assisting the metal analysis of tissues. The technician(s) may also assist with some other ongoing projects such as amphibian population monitoring to include reviewing camera trap footage and acoustic recording device files.
Lift at least 50 pounds and work outdoors up to 8 hours a day. Attention to detail, familiarity with data entry, willingness to handle amphibians and snakes, working long hours in wet and/or hot conditions.
