Job summary

The YMCA is seeking a Talent Acquisition Partner to support its CSS recruitment desk for high-volume, entry-level roles across San Diego County. You will source, screen, and onboard candidates, leveraging social networks and ATS tools to maintain a robust pipeline.

This temporary, remote-capable role requires broad sourcing expertise, excellent communication, and strong time-management to meet staffing goals and maintain a positive candidate experience. Weekly in-person meetings may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or four years equivalent related experience, plus three years in high-volume hiring
  • Five years of sales or customer service experience required
  • Experience suggesting and implementing creative sourcing strategies for high-volume recruiting
  • Experience with metrics-driven results and accountability for recruitment metrics
  • Experience developing and fostering a strong candidate pipeline
  • Hands-on experience with ATS, iCIMS preferred
  • Highly self-motivated with urgency to achieve goals
  • Strong attention to detail with minimal data-entry errors
  • Familiarity with social networks, professional sites and resume databases
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (business email writing)
  • Exceptional time-management with ability to handle multiple requisitions
  • Strong collaborator and team player

Responsibilities

  • High and heavy volume outbound communications to mostly warm leads (applicants)
  • Lead full cycle recruitment for high-volume, entry-level positions from posting to onboarding
  • Use social networks to locate and connect with potential candidates
  • Interact with professionals on niche platforms
  • Review resumes to pre-screen candidates
  • Track candidate data daily in ATS and suggest improvements
  • Suggest new sourcing avenues for hard-to-fill roles
  • Communicate regularly with candidates and hiring managers

Overview

The Talent Acquisition Partner - CSS runs a full cycle recruitment desk, supporting the goals of the TA department by maintaining a high volume of candidate interaction, screening, and scheduling. As a first line candidate sourcer and screener, the individual in this role will provide creative solutions to staffing shortages and apply industry knowledge to our high-volume recruitment process.

SCHEDULE:

  • This position is Monday – Friday, 8:30AM – 5:00PM, with a 30-minute lunch break

Temporary Position: Projected end date 4 months after start date

WORK DESIGNATION:

  • Remote (must work within San Diego County Region)
  • Monthly in person team meetings and trainings
    • Please note that the work designation may change based on business needs.

PROGRAM SUMMARY:

YMCA Expanded Learning Programs offer a safe, engaging space where kids can learn, grow, and explore beyond the school day. Serving over 90 schools across San Diego County, we provide high-quality before and after school programs, along with fun intersession opportunities, all thoughtfully designed to support academic, emotional, and physical development.

Responsibilities
  • High and heavy volume outbound communications to mostly warm leads (applicants)
  • Lead full cycle recruitment for a group of high-volume, entry-level positions, from posting to selection and onboarding
  • Use social media networks to look for and connect with potential candidates
  • Interact with professionals on niche platforms
  • Review online resumes to pre-screen candidates
  • Track candidate data on a daily basis within applicant tracking system, make suggestions to improve tracking methods
  • Understand and capitalize on various sourcing strategies for high turnover, part time positions
  • Research and make suggestions for new avenues of sourcing for hard to fill, high volume roles
  • Communicate regularly with candidates and hiring managers
  • Maintain an excellent candidate experience with responsiveness and follow through
  • Ask for referrals from internal and external networks
  • Contact past applicants for new job opportunities
  • Proactively source potential hires for recurring, high volume positions
  • Provide weekly metrics for data tracking purposes
  • Develop a strong pipeline of entry level candidates and nurture candidate relationships through effective communications and attraction strategies
  • Offer suggestions for high volume process improvement based on full cycle recruitment model
  • Proactively anticipate hiring needs for multiple departments and branches, monitor hiring decisions and track onboarding numbers
  • Engage community partners and build new relationships to further Talent Acquisition goals

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position occasionally requires travel throughout San Diego County.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree OR four (4) years equivalent related experience is required AND,
    • Three (3) years of experience working in a high-volume hiring environment, managing a full desk WITH
    • Five (5) years of sales or customer service experience required
  • Experience suggesting and implementing creative sourcing strategies for high volume recruiting
  • Experience working with metrics-driven results and comfortable being held accountable for high level recruitment metrics
  • Experience developing and fostering a strong candidate pipeline
  • Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), iCIMS preferred
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency to achieve goals
  • Strong attention to detail with minimal errors in data entry
  • Familiarity with social networks, professional sites and resume databases
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (particularly business email writing knowledge)
  • Exceptional time-management skills with the ability to handle various requisitions simultaneously
  • Strong collaborator and team player

PRE-HIRE CONTINGENCIES:

  • Licensing, state law and our funders require that applicants of critical positions within Community Support Services be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications
  • CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, within 30 days of hire, and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or American Safety and Health Institute
