Job summary

The State Hygienic Laboratory at the University of Iowa, Coralville facility, is seeking a Temporary Storekeeper to support shipping, inventory, and order processing for public health operations.

Responsibilities include coordinating carrier shipments, maintaining inventory levels, and supervising student workers. A valid driver’s license and background check are required, with schedule flexibility up to 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Combination of clerical office experience and/or related education equivalent to two years full-time work.
• Ability to type 30 WPM with accurate data entry.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Operate postage machine and scale; document carrier used and charge the correct account.
• Prepare daily shipping reports and manifests for carriers; sort and assign packages within postal regulations.
• May be trained to process internal and external orders; remove items from stock and record inventory.
• Maintain inventory levels and organize, prioritize, and assign work to meet deadlines.
• Perform supervision and training of student employees.
