University of Iowa’s State Hygienic Laboratory in Coralville, IA, seeks a Microbiology Supervisor to oversee clinical specimen testing, ensure CLIA-compliant practices, and lead laboratory teams on safety and quality assurance.
The role requires a Bachelor's in Microbiology or related field, with at least five years in clinical/public health labs and demonstrated leadership abilities. On-site, with standard M-F hours and on-call coverage.
The State Hygienic Laboratory (Iowa’s Environmental and Public Health Laboratory), at the University of Iowa, has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Microbiology Supervisor, in the Coralville, Iowa facility. This position supervises the laboratory testing of clinical specimens or isolates, for the purpose of disease diagnosis and treatment or surveillance. Ensures assigned sections are functioning under best laboratory practice and in compliance with CLIA regulations. Ensures assigned staff adhere to all laboratory safety and security policies.
To meet CLIA regulations, an official transcript or a copy of an official transcript will be required prior to an offer of employment. (Applicants with degrees from foreign institutions must have the transcripts evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services http://www.naces.org/ and the applicant is responsible for all costs associated with that evaluation).
M-F 8 a.m. -5 p.m., Holiday, Weekend, and on-call coverage is required.
