Job summary

XL Parts and The Parts House in Stafford, TX is seeking a Store Stocker to receive, stock and prepare automotive parts for customers. The role is temporary/seasonal to support store projects and initiatives; candidates should be able to move, bend, climb a short ladder, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma and 0–3 years warehouse experience, basic computer skills, and knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.

Responsibilities

• Read orders to determine items to move, gather, or distribute.
• Move materials from receiving to storage or to other areas.
• Sort items on racks, shelves, or bins by size, type, style, color, or code.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and prepare pallets or shelves.
• Mark materials with identifying information and open containers as needed.
• Record amounts of materials received or distributed.
• Weigh or count items to ensure conformance to standards.
• Enter records using a computer.
• Prepare parcels for mailing and shipment via common carrier.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

The Store Stocker is responsible for receiving and stocking Automotive parts. The ideal candidate should be able to move and think quickly, able to bend at the waist and knees and climb a short ladder to reach top shelves. This role is temporary/seasonal to support the store location's projects and initiatives.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Reads customer’s order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders in pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Marks materials with identifying information. Open boxes, crates, and other containers.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Uses computer to enter records.
• Prepares parcels for mailing and shipment via common carrier.
• Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• High school Diploma
• 0 to 3 years working in a warehouse
• Good to above-average computer skills
• Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures preferred
• Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Some overtime may be required
• Must be able to pass a criminal background and drug screen

Environmental/Occupational Health and Physical Requirements:

Typical 9-hour day to include reaching, standing, walking, kneeling, lifting and carrying. To perform the duties of this job the employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. The heavy lifting of 50lbs or more may be required. Employee also share the responsibility to perform routine housekeeping activities such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning and changing trash can liner
