Job summary

The Hamlin School Culinary Services is seeking a temporary full-time cook to join our team in San Francisco. Working in a fast-paced scratch kitchen serving 500 students and staff, you will assist with daily hot and cold meal prep and ensure food safety.

Responsibilities include cooking, assembling meals, creating one vegetarian soup and one daily salad, helping prep for the next day, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional kitchen experience.
• Some Spanish language proficiency preferred.
• Passion for high-quality ingredients, efficiency, and hospitality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, cooking and assembly of hot and cold food.
• Ensure food is ready in a timely manner and served at lunch.
• Create one vegetarian soup and one daily composed salad.
• Help prep for the next day’s menu (marinating/cooking meats, cutting vegetables).
• Maintain proper food storage and kitchen cleanliness.
• Coordinate with Culinary Director and Sous Chef on prep lists.
