Job summary

San Francisco Unified School District is seeking a School Lunchroom Helper to support daily kitchen operations, food preparation, and meal service for students. You will work under supervision to ensure safety, accuracy, and efficiency in a busy school nutrition environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, six months kitchen experience with POS systems, and a Food Safety Manager certification. Must be able to cover multiple shifts at SFUSD sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months of routine kitchen work experience including use of a computer and POS.
• Current Food Safety Manager certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and heat a variety of items following standard menus and recipes.
• Ensure meals are nutritious and conform to program standards.
• Serve food to students and staff in a courteous manner.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and communication.
• Uphold food safety and sanitation practices per regulations.
• Operate FIFO inventory and keep kitchen areas clean.
